La Almudena — Madrid's patroness

A public holiday in the city of Madrid for its patron saint. Mass and a procession at the Almudena cathedral, an offering of flowers, and stalls selling the almond rosquillas de la Almudena. City offices and many shops close; it is much quieter than San Isidro.
