Free evening hours at the big museums

Every evening except Monday at the Thyssen, one of the three national museums is free:

• Prado — Mon–Sat 18:00–20:00, Sun 17:00–19:00
• Reina Sofía — Mon and Wed–Sat 19:00–21:00, Sun afternoon (closed Tuesdays)
• Thyssen — Mondays 12:00–16:00, permanent collection only

Queue forms 30–45 minutes early at the first two. Pick one wing rather than trying to see everything.

Check the museum's own site the morning you go — times shift around holidays.
