El Rastro flea market

Madrid's Sunday flea market, running since roughly the 16th century, sprawling down Ribera de Curtidores from La Latina.

Sundays and public holidays, 9:00–15:00. Go before 11:00 if you want to move; after that it is shoulder to shoulder. Real finds exist in the side streets — the main drag is mostly phone cases.

The actual tradition is what happens afterwards: vermut in a bar on Cava Baja. Do that part.
